The Glenn Dale Hospital resides on a 216 acre property on Glenn Dale Road, north of Annapolis Road (Rt. 450), in Prince
Georges County, Maryland. After rampant outbreaks of Tuberculosis in Washington D.C. during the early 1900's, Government
officials started to see the need for TB sanitariums. The Glenn Dale Hospital was chosen to be for children welfare
patients in D.C. The movement to build a children's hospital was already 10 years old, and it was becoming more and
more of a problem in urban areas.
